The Basement introduces the concept that light is not just illumination but the primary tool of survival.

WaterWorks introduces multi-source puzzles: several sensor panels require two light sources illuminating them simultaneously. Childhood Memories

This chapter introduces the TV portal mechanic: certain television screens can be activated by illuminating them, transporting you between memory fragments within the same level.
